WHAT’S NEW IN 19.05
Our project to clean up the map and remove redundant points of interest still continues. We believe that it is important to not just add more and more points to our map, but to ensure that the existing ones are still relevant.
Botswana has had a 9% increase in road coverage with a focus around Gaborone and Lobatse.
East Africa has seen an increase of 4% in road coverage. Road surfaces in Uganda were revised and updated and new roads added around Kampala as well as new tracks in Queen Elizabeth NP.
In Mozambique and Malawi new roads and tracks were added which resulted in an increase of 8% in road coverage.
A new tar road between Maputo and Ponta do Ouro border post has also been added.
Zimbabwe and Zambia road classifications have been revised following field research. The road network increased by 6% as a result of ongoing research in the area. We are very proud of our Zambian map which has matured into one of the most comprehensive travel maps available.
T4A GPS Maps 19.05 comes preloaded on a micro SD card with standard adapter, ready for Plug & Navigate. This SD card can be used on most map capable Garmin handheld units and has been tested with latest Drive units as well.
We processed 345 data submissions for this version resulting in the addition of about 29 000km of road data. These data submissions not only contribute more roads and POIs to the map but also improve the quality of existing data by means of corrections.
